These workshops offer an introduction to the core principles and practice of meditation and an opportunity to explore how they may be helpful in work and organisational settings.
The workshops include a mixture of experiential exercises, theory and frameworks, questions and discussion. They will be of interest to anyone who:
- Wants to explore how the practice and principles of meditation may be helpful in their own life, career and organisation
- Wishes to throw new light on a specific work related question
- Is interested in better understanding the emerging area of workplace spirituality and what that might mean for their work and organisation.
These introductory open workshops are informal and offer a safe and supportive space to explore how contemplative practices and principles can usefully be integrated into the everyday workplace. Groups are limited to 12 people maximum. The precise content of the day is tailored to the group's interests and requests.
Typical topics include:
- Meditation as worldview – why meditate? Why might it be helpful?
- Openness meditation - a basic meditation technique for everyday practice
- Meditation in daily life - bringing the view and practice of meditation into our day to day work and life activities
- Transforming negativity - learning to work with difficult situations
- The rhythm of meditation – the basic patterns of change and development
